Until it hits the surface of matter, light and colour are just an ILLUSION. Colours are in a continuous state of flux and can only be understood in relation to the other colours  that surround them. Different wavelengths of light produce the colours that we call the visible spectrum in our brain between infrared and ultraviolet. Human perception of colour is subjective and varies according to individual possibilities.
